CRPF soldier among four dead, four injured in separate incidents in IIOJK
Srinagar: Four persons, including a soldier from the Indian Centre Reserve Police Force, died and four others sustained injuries in three separate incidents in Indian legally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the first incident occurred this morning in Budgam, where CRPF soldier Parveen Kumar from Haryana, died after falling from a four-storey lift shaft at an under-construction Pandit Colony in Kakan Maran area. Kumar was serving with the Alpha 123 Battalion of the CRPF. According to an Indian Army official G.D. Upendra Tiwari, the battalion was preparing for deployment to Baramulla when Kumar was reported missing from his post. “We began a search and eventually found him lying near the construction site. It is unclear how or when he reached that area,” he said.
In a second incident, two labourers were killed and four others injured in Samba district when a heap of soil collapsed on them while they worked in a large pit for a bridge over the Devak River on the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. The deceased have been identified as Sobin Kumar from Bihar and Lal Singh from Reasi.
In a separate incident, a 56-year-old Indian tourist, identified as Devabrota Ghosh from West Bengal, drowned in the Lidder River at Betab Valley in Pahalgam while taking photographs, according to officials.
