Mustafa Kamal seeks restoration of statehood to IIOJK, constitutional pledges
Jammu: Additional General Secretary of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Sheikh Mustafa Kamal has urged the Indian government to reinstate the constitutional guarantees to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mustafa Kamal in a statement issued in Jammu said the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir have shown their unwavering support for Omar Abdullah by electing him to lead the government in the territory.
“It is now imperative for New Delhi to fulfill the promises made to the people regarding the restoration of statehood,” he said.
Mustafa Kamal praised the Omar Abdullah-led cabinet for passing a resolution in this regard and presenting it to the prime minister. He emphasized that the responsibility now lies with New Delhi to honour the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and fulfill its commitments.
The people of J&K have done their part, and the cabinet has echoed their desires. It is time for Delhi to show respect for these aspirations and deliver on its promises,” Kamal asserted.
