Mirwaiz stresses importance of preserving places of worship, forging unity
Srinagar: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has stressed the importance of preserving places of worship, fostering cooperation and unity within a society.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz made these remarks while laying the foundation stone of the historic Bazar Masjid in Srinagar’s Bohri Kadal area on Sunday, marking a significant step towards rebuilding the mosque that was ravaged by a devastating fire on June 24, 2024.
The ceremony, organized by Bazm-e-Tawheed Ahlihadees, drew enthusiastic participation from locals and was attended by prominent Ulema, including Dr. Tariq Ahmad Butt, Dr. Abdul Lateef Kindi and Molana Maqbool Akhrani.
In his address, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq praised the community’s efforts in initiating the mosque’s reconstruction and urged business leaders to contribute generously to the cause. He stressed the importance of preserving places of worship and fostering unity and cooperation within society.
The event also saw a heartwarming moment when Maulana Mubarak Mubarki, chairman of Bazm-e-Tawheed, made a brief appearance despite his ill health. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq warmly received him, acknowledging his dedication to the community’s welfare.
