APC rejects elections as India’s ploy to divert attention from rights abuses in IIOJK

Declaration condemns India's attempts to create unrest in Azad Kashmir

Muzaffarabad, October 13 (KMS): All Parties Conference has rejected the recent elections in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, labeling them a diversion by the Modi-led Indian regime from the severe human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, chaired by the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the APC issued a declaration emphasizing that these elections cannot substitute the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and demanded India allow Kashmiris to freely decide their future.

The conference paid tribute to the resilient people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir who continue to resist oppression and uphold their freedom struggle. The leaders also saluted the unwavering spirit of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and the Kashmiri youth, who persist despite facing severe Indian repression.

Expressing solidarity with Palestine, the conference condemned Israeli aggression and urged the United Nations and the OIC to intervene and stop the genocide of Palestinians. The leaders expressed full solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The conference strongly condemned India’s attempts to create unrest in Azad Kashmir and praised the sacrifices of the Pakistani armed forces defending the Line of Control. The Pakistani military is seen as a protector, while Indian forces are perpetrating new atrocities against Kashmiris.

Acknowledging Pakistan’s support, the conference thanked the government and people of Pakistan for providing relief to the people of Azad Kashmir despite financial challenges, and appreciated the efforts of the President, Prime Minister, Army Chief, and national security agencies.

The conference honored the martyrs of the Kashmir freedom movement and the Pakistani and Azad Kashmir armed forces and police. It pledged to pursue national unity and development while discouraging divisive elements.

The leaders condemned terrorism within Pakistan and stated that the people of Azad Kashmir stand with their armed forces in the fight against terrorism.

Welcoming the SCO summit in Islamabad, the conference called for an end to the atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The leaders vowed to resolve longstanding public issues through democratic means and rejected any parallel governance under the guise of addressing public grievances. They urged all political organizations to register under the Constitution of Azad Kashmir and participate in the democratic process.

The conference rejected any non-democratic methods for achieving public rights, particularly those inciting violence, and called upon the international community to ensure the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir, stressing that resolving the Kashmir issue is essential for regional peace.
