Inquiry panel to visit US today to investigate Pannun case
New Delhi: An Indian inquiry committee, formed to investigate the involvement of certain individuals in a plot to assassinate Sikh leader and chief of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, will be in Washington, DC, tomorrow (Wednesday).

The US State Department confirmed that India is actively investigating an individual, identified last year in a US Department of Justice indictment, as an Indian Government employee involved in the foiled plot to kill a US citizen in New York City. The committee’s visit to Washington is part of its ongoing probe. The US also noted that India will take follow-up steps as necessary.
