Pakistan's Support to Kashmir

NA unanimously approves resolution expressing solidarity with IIOJK people

Islamabad: The National Assembly has unanimously approved a resolution to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people in connection with the Black Day to be observed on October 27 in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and across the world.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Maqam submitted a resolution in this regard in the House which was unanimously approved.

In the text of the resolution, it is said that on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the entry of Indian forces into Srinagar on October 27, 1947, this meeting of the National Assembly will extend full political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people in their struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination.

The resolution emphasized that sustainable peace and stability in South Asia depends on the final resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The resolution once again rejects India’s continued efforts to change the demography of the occupied territory. The resolution also condemns the long-term detention of thousands of Kashmiri political activists and the ban on several Kashmiri political parties.

Earlier, Engineer Amir Maqam said the struggle of Kashmiris is in front of the whole world, adding Kashmiris have made a history by making unprecedented sacrifices for their birthright to self-determination. He said that efforts were made to implement the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council regarding Kashmir. He said that during the last seven decades, the Indian soldiers have martyred more than 96,000 Kashmiris and destroyed more than 100,000 houses.

He said after the repeal of the special status of occupied Kashmir in August 2019, India has started settling non-Kashmiri Hindus in the territory to distort the population ratio. He said Pakistan will continue its political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris. He further said that the Prime Minister has fully presented the case of Kashmiris and Palestinians on the occasion of the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly.
