Qureshi urges UN to ensure implementation of SC resolutions on Kashmir
London: Nazir Ahmed Qureshi, patron of Kashmir Campaign Global and founder of World Kashmir Freedom Movement, termed India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir on October 27, 1947, as a “dark stain” on India’s forehead.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in London, Qureshi called October 27, 1947, the “blackest day” in human history, when Indian forces began their reign of terror, massacre, and illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, perpetuating a cycle of violence that continues today.
Qureshi emphasized that India’s actions defied the principles of the Partition of the Subcontinent and disregarded Kashmiri aspirations. However, Kashmiris remain resolute in their resistance, seeking international recognition.
The Kashmir issue, Qureshi stressed, poses a significant threat to regional and global peace, being an atomic flashpoint. He urged the United Nations to intervene, ensuring Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
Globally, Kashmiris protest India’s occupation, demanding freedom. This struggle will persist until Kashmir achieves liberation.
