Rallies held in Muzaffarabad, Kotli and Lahore draw large participation
Muzaffarabad/Lahore: Anti-India protests were held in Muzaffarabad and Kotli, Azad Kashmir, and Lahore to mark October 27 as “Black Day” in solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the rallies were organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell.
In Muzaffarabad, the protest rally was led by Education Minister Diwan Ali Chughtai and other leaders. Carrying black flags and placards, participants chanted slogans against India. They condemned India’s 77-year occupation of Kashmir, terming it a terrorist state responsible for the bloodshed of innocent Kashmiris.
In Kotli, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, an anti-India rally led by Kashmiri leaders including Sardar Haji Arif, Qazi Imran and Sardar Aftab Arif, drew large participation from migrants, civil society, traders, and journalists. Speakers, including Qazi Imran and Khawaja Ilyaz, condemned India’s 77-year occupation, highlighting the suffering of Kashmiris, with thousands killed and displaced. They urged the international community to grant Kashmiris their right to self-determination.
In Lahore, the Hurriyat Kashmir Center organized a protest demonstration outside the Press Club. Various politicians, social activists, lawyers, traders, students, and civil society members participated. Speakers included Sayed Naseebullah Gardezi, Ghulam Abbas Mir, Engineer Mehtab Mahmood, Farzana Batool, Naam Al Hassan, Farooq Azam and Raja Shahzad Ahmed.
Speakers criticized India’s illegal occupation of Kashmir since October 27, 1947, and its failure to grant Kashmiris their right to self-determination. They urged international human rights organizations to take notice of India’s atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
