Indian troops kill seven persons in Telangana
Hyderabad: Indian troops have killed at least seven persons from tribal community in Telangana state of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, seven tribal persons were killed in a fake encounter by Indian forces during a military operation in Etyrybagaran area of Mulugu district of the state.
The Indian police have labeled the deceased as members of the Maoist (Naxalite) movement, a group engaged in an ongoing conflict with the Indian government, advocating for a separate state. The Naxalites primarily operate in tribal-dominated areas, where they represent the marginalized communities, often facing government repression.
The Maoists and Marxist movements active in many Indian states including Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra have been demanding independence from the Indian hegemony since 1947.
