Islamabad: Events held worldwide in connection with Self-Determination Day have amplified calls for an end to India’s brutal oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination under international law.
According to Kashmir Media Service, participants in these events, spanning multiple countries, denounced India’s decades-long tyranny in IIOJK, where military force has been used to suppress the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The gatherings emphasized that no nation has ever been subdued by force, and the Kashmiri struggle for freedom stands as a testament to this truth.
Speakers highlighted the resilience of the Kashmiri people, who have endured relentless state terrorism while keeping the flame of freedom alive. They condemned India’s attempts to strip Kashmiris of their identity and dignity and vowed that the struggle for freedom will remain unwavering until justice is achieved.
The participants collectively demanded an immediate end to India’s human rights abuses and oppressive measures in IIOJK. They sought international community’s urgent intervention to ensure the implementation of United Nations resolutions on Kashmir. The speakers called recognition of the Kashmiri people’s inalienable right to self-determination as a legal and moral imperative. Besides, the participants demanded imposition of economic sanctions on India to compel compliance with international norms and laws.
Global human rights advocates and diaspora communities stressed that India’s actions in IIOJK tarnish its international reputation and violate the principles of democracy and justice. The participants reaffirmed their solidarity with the Kashmiri people, pledging to continue raising awareness of their plight and pressuring governments and organizations to act decisively.
The events concluded with a unanimous resolution condemning India’s actions and declaring unwavering support for the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for freedom.
