Protest in AJK on Modi’s visit to IIOJK
Muzaffarabad: Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir staged a protest procession on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to occupied Jammu and Kashmir today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of people gathered at the old secretariat in Muzaffarabad, chanting anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
Protesters waved black flags and burnt tires on the road and carried banners that read “Modi is the most disliked person in Kashmir.”
Speaking on the occasion, Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali said that Narendra Modi is trying to make occupied Jammu and Kashmir a military base. Kashmiri people reject the visit of a usurper on their land, he added.
He maintained that thousands of acres of farmers’ lands are being destroyed due to the railway line, roads and tunnels being built for military purposes in the occupied territory.
“Modi has turned occupied Kashmir into a prison under the surveillance of more than 1 million soldiers and has badly affected civil liberties”, he lamented.
Vice Chairman Usman Ali Hashim said Narendra Modi is the killer of thousands of Kashmiri youth and such visits are just to deceive the world conscience that everything is normal in Kashmir.
He said that the Modi government took away the identity of Kashmiris on August 5, 2019 by repealing their special status. “It was the Modi government that abolished the statehood of Kashmir”, he added.
Protests are also being held in different districts of Azad Kashmir, Mirpur, Dhadial, Kotli, Bagh and Neelam on the call of Pasban-e-Hurriyat.
The protest was led by Raja Muhammad Arif khan, Ghulam Hussain But, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan, Dr Muhammad Mozoor, Muhammad Aslam Inqilabi, Yasir Naqvi Advocate and Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail.
