GBSA aghast over violation of job reservation policy in IIOJK
Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Gujjar-Bakharwal Students Alliance (GBSA) has strongly condemned the violation of territory’s Reservation Rules 2005 in the ongoing recruitment process at the University of Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the chief spokesperson of GBSA, Amir Chaudhry, stated that the recruitment process favors candidates who are not residents of IIOJK, which is a clear violation of the reservation policy. He pointed out that this is a direct injustice to the local Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates in IIOJK. He further mentioned that the Reservation Rules specifically reserve positions for the permanent residents of the territory.
GBSA’s General Secretary, Saqib Zubair, emphasized the importance of adhering to the law, urging the authorities to take immediate corrective action to ensure compliance with the reservation laws. He stated that tampering with recruitment procedures is unacceptable, as deserving local candidates are being deprived of their rightful opportunities. He added that discrepancies in the recruitment process are damaging the credibility of the institution and the rights of their community.
The alliance warned that if the grievances are not addressed promptly, they will intensify their protest.
