Mirwaiz Umar Farooq extends Ramazan greetings, prays for peace

Srinagar: Mutahida Majlis Ulema President and senior APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslims of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the global Ummah on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramazan.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the holy month of Ramazan is set to begin on March 2 (Sunday).
In a statement issued in Srinagar, Mirwaiz emphasized the spiritual significance of Ramazan, urging the faithful to embrace patience, humility, and generosity. He encouraged increased devotion to prayer, a deeper connection with the Quran, and acts of compassion and charity towards those in need. He prayed that Ramazan brings peace, joy, and spiritual elevation to all.
Meanwhile, Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid expressed hope that authorities would desist from imposing any restrictions on Mirwaiz’s religious and tableeghi activities, enabling the large number of devotees to benefit from his sermons during this sacred month.
Additionally, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Alliance has extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramazan. In a statement issued in Srinagar, the organization’s spokesperson, Sajjad Mir, condemned the relentless genocide of Muslims in IIOJK and India by Hindutva-driven forces. He said that India was escalating brutal oppression to tighten its illegal hold on Kashmir. Despite this relentless tyranny, he asserted, Kashmiris remain steadfast in their rightful struggle for freedom. Mir urged Kashmiris to use Ramazan as an opportunity to support the needy, including orphans, widows, and the underprivileged, especially the families of martyrs and political prisoners, reaffirming solidarity in the face of oppression.
