Webinar urges global strategy, lawfare for resolution of Kashmir dispute

Islamabad: Speakers at a webinar called for a unified global strategy to advance the Kashmir cause, emphasizing the need to move beyond symbolic gestures and adopt concrete actions—especially through international law and diaspora engagement.

The webinar organized by Kashmir Media Service brought together prominent activists, legal experts, and academics. Participants included Altaf Hussain Wani, Chairperson of the Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR); Senior TV anchor and journalist Yasir Rehman, Salman Khan, President of Kashmir Global Movement; legal experts Sundas Malik and Sidra Sadozai; academic Dr. Waleed Rasool; and media analyst Zubair Hussain from Sweden. The session was moderated by anchorperson Yasir Rehman.

Speakers urged the formation of a centralized platform with a clear objective: the liberation of Kashmir by 2030. They emphasized that lawfare is Kashmir’s most powerful tool in the modern world, and that legal mechanisms must be employed strategically to counter Indian occupation.

The importance of educating youth and producing academically credible, research-based narratives on Kashmir was also highlighted. “We must present our case through history, legal realism, and strategy—not just emotions,” the speakers noted.

The session concluded with a strong call to action: form a Global Kashmir Think Tank, adopt a three-pronged strategy involving lawfare, academic advocacy, and media engagement, declare Kashmir an integral part of Pakistan without hesitation, and organize a global conference to align efforts across continents.
