JKLF condemns SIA raid on Yasin Malik’s house in Srinagar

India using SIA to target pro-freedom leadership: DFP

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has strongly condemned the State Investigation Agency’s raid on the house of illegally detained party Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and the harassment of his elderly mother and sister during the search operation.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the JKLF in a statement issued in Srinagar said India has tasked the SIA to re-open decades-old fictitious cases to target pro-freedom leaders, terming it part of a political vendetta against Muhammad Yasin Malik. The JKLF rejected the Delhi High Court’s notices to Malik as unilateral actions taken on Modi government directives and vowed to intensify its campaign locally and globally to expose India’s inhumane and aggressive measures in the occupied territory.

The statement said the establishment of the SIA, after the NIA, proves that India is bent on suppressing the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle through coercion but will fail in depriving them of their UN-recognized right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) also condemned the SIA raid on Yasin Malik’s house and on other Hurriyat activists, terming it a deliberate attempt to harass their families. DFP spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal said India is using its so-called investigative agencies to intimidate and humiliate pro-freedom leadership as part of its broader strategy to crush dissent in the territory.
