Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that India is deceiving the international community about the ground situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by hiding its state terrorism and grave human rights violations in the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said the BJP-led Indian government cannot perpetuate its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir through military might and its Hindutva-driven RSS agenda.
He said the people of Kashmir are striving for peace and political justice, adding that the implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir would not only guarantee freedom to Kashmiris but also pave the way for regional economic stability.
The APHC spokesperson strongly condemned India’s information blockade in Kashmir, saying that truth cannot be silenced with force. He added that the Modi regime is employing intimidation to suppress every reporting critical of its actions in the occupied territory. Since the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status in August 2019, censorship has reached unprecedented levels, with journalists, rights activists, and even ordinary citizens facing arrests over social media posts. He said Kashmiri voices on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are relentlessly censored, phones are tapped, movements are tracked by Indian agencies, and mainstream media is barred from reporting ground realities.
The spokesman called for greater unity among Kashmiri people and political parties to collectively advance their legitimate demand for the right to self-determination.
Terming the Kashmir dispute both a political and humanitarian issue, the APHC highlighted the unprecedented sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri people since 1947 in their peaceful struggle against Indian occupation.
It reiterated that the Kashmiris’ resistance movement is a legitimate and democratic struggle to end India’s forcible occupation and secure the right to self-determination through peaceful means.
The APHC further said the Indian troops stationed in the occupied territory are foreign occupation forces and must withdraw, affirming that the Kashmiri people will ultimately achieve their birthright to self-determination.
It urged the international community to fulfil its moral and legal responsibilities by supporting the just cause of Kashmiris in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
