AJK PM slams Afghan FM for endorsing India’s unwarranted stance on Kashmir

Mirpur: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has strongly rejected the recent remarks made by the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan in New Delhi, in which he appeared to endorse India’s position on the Kashmir dispute.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq in a statement, referring to the United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Kashmir, made it clear that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute awaiting final settlement.
He said India continues to propagate a false narrative regarding the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir; however, the international community has not accepted New Delhi’s baseless claims.
The AJK Prime Minister stated that the Afghan Foreign Minister’s comments reflect a lack of understanding of historical facts and ground realities. He said India’s military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir is unlawful and stands rejected by the Kashmiri people, who continue their peaceful struggle for freedom and right to self-determination.
He recalled that prior to the creation of Pakistan, the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir had expressed their collective will to align their fate with Pakistan by adopting the historic Accession to Pakistan Resolution on 19th July in 1947. The Kashmiri people, he added, have since been rendering unparalleled sacrifices for the realization of this objective.
Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq said the United Nations Security Council resolutions explicitly acknowledge the Kashmiri people’s fundamental right to decide their political future through a free and impartial plebiscite.
