Al-Falah varsity denounces baseless media allegations amid Red Fort blast controversy

Chandigarh: Al-Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana, has expressed shock and anguish over the tragic blast near Delhi’s Red Fort but firmly denied any institutional connection with the doctors arrested by Indian investigating agencies in connection with the incident. The university slammed the ongoing media trial, calling its allegations baseless after many media outlets and Hindutva-affiliated handles targeted the institution.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Bhupinder Kaur Anand, the university expressed deep sadness over the incident and offered condolences to the victims. The statement followed reports suggesting that two doctors associated with the university were detained by investigating agencies in relation to the blast. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all the innocent people affected by these distressing events,” the statement said.

Clarifying the university’s stance, Dr. Anand said: “The University has no connection whatsoever with the said persons apart from their official roles as employees. We are fully cooperating with the investigating authorities to ensure a fair and transparent inquiry.”

The VC also strongly condemned “certain online platforms” that have circulated misleading and defamatory content aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the institution. “We categorically deny all such baseless allegations,” Dr. Anand asserted.
The university urged the media and public to verify facts before making or sharing statements concerning the institution.

The statement comes amid a wave of media trial and social media posts targeting the university after the arrests of the doctors. Though no official confirmation has been issued, several media outlets have speculated that the arrests may be connected to the recent Red Fort blast case. Many Hindutva affiliated journalists also claim the same. However, no government or investigative agency has confirmed these allegations.
