JKSA raises attacks on Kashmiri shawl sellers with Rahul Gandhi

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has expressed serious concern over the rising incidents of harassment and brutal assaults on Kashmiri students and shawl sellers by Hindutva extremist elements in different parts of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, JKSA Convenor Nasir Khuehami took up the matter with the Media Advisor to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Naresh Chauhan, and sought his immediate intervention, particularly in the recent incident in Dehra area of Kangra district where a Kashmiri shawl seller was assaulted and seriously injured.
Khuehami also raised the issue with the office of the Leader of Opposition in the Indian Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, apprising it of the growing insecurity faced by Kashmiri students and traders outside Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Responding to the communication, the office of Rahul Gandhi assured full support and intervention, and conveyed that the matter would be pursued with the concerned authorities to ensure justice and protection for the victims.
The JKSA said the repeated attacks on Kashmiris reflect an alarming rise in intolerance under the Hindutva-driven environment in India and urged the authorities to take immediate and effective steps to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety and dignity of Kashmiris across India.
