Mirwaiz calls for following teachings of Hazrat Moinuddin Chishti, Bulbul Shah
Srinagar: Senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid glowing tributes to two highly revered saints, Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri (RA) and Hazrat Abdul Rehman Bulbul Shah (RA), emphasizing the need to sincerely follow their teachings to overcome societal challenges.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, Mirwaiz highlighted the immense contributions of Sultan-ul-Hind Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri (RA) in spreading Islam and serving humanity in the Indian subcontinent. Marking the 813th passing anniversary of the saint, he noted that Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s remarkable efforts led to millions embracing Islam and established a legacy of Sufism and selfless service that continues to inspire.
Quoting renowned Orientalist Professor Arnold, Mirwaiz mentioned that 9 million people directly embraced Islam through the saint’s efforts. He emphasized that the teachings of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA), centered on peace, security, and human brotherhood, are vital in addressing today’s challenges of intolerance and narrow-mindedness. “Spreading these teachings would be the greatest tribute to this exalted saint,” he said.
Mirwaiz also paid homage to Hazrat Abdul Rehman Bulbul Shah (RA), the first Mubaligh (preacher) of Islam in Kashmir, on his passing anniversary. He highlighted the transformative impact of Hazrat Bulbul Shah’s sincere missionary efforts, which led to the conversion of the then king, Rinchan Shah, and thousands of others to Islam, laying the foundation for its spread in Jammu and Kashmir. Rinchan Shah embraced Islam and adopted the name “Sadruddin,” marking a pivotal moment in Kashmir’s history.
Urging people to follow the teachings of these great saints, Mirwaiz described them as a practical summary of the Quran and Hadith. He emphasized that embracing these teachings could help Kashmiri society overcome its current challenges.
Mirwaiz concluded by calling for collective efforts to uphold the legacy of these revered spiritual figures, reiterating that their lives and teachings serve as a beacon of hope and guidance for humanity.
