Raees-ul-Ahrar remembered as shining star of Kashmir freedom movement
AJK PM, Overseas Kashmiris call Abbas accession to Pakistan supporter

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has paid rich tribute to prominent Kashmiri leader Raees-ul-Ahrar Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas on his death anniversary.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC leaders, in their separate statements in Srinagar, described Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas as a shining star of Kashmir’s freedom movement. They said that the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan was the mission of Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas, for which he struggled till his last breath.
They said that Chaudhry Abbas, from the earliest days of his youth, worked tirelessly for the freedom of the Muslims of the subcontinent, especially Kashmiris, from the oppression of the British and the Dogras. He played an important role in the Kashmir freedom movement and remained committed to this mission throughout his life.
The leaders reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the struggle for the right to self-determination until it reaches its logical conclusion.
Meanwhile, the Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, along with Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, Mohammad Farooq Rehmani, Faiz Naqasbandi, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Rafiq Ahmed Dar, Altaf Hussain Wani, Shameem Shawl, Mir Tahir Masood and Advocate Parvaiz Ahmed, in their statements in Islamabad, also described Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas as a shining star of Kashmir’s freedom movement.
The leaders said that the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan was the mission of Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas, for which he struggled till his last breath. They reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the struggle for the right to self-determination until it reaches its logical conclusion.
In Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore while paying tributes to Raees-ul-Ahrar Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas on his death anniversary, in his message termed him a staunch supporter of the Two-Nation Theory in Kashmir and a leading advocate for accession to Pakistan.
Paris-based Kashmiri diaspora leader Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar also paid rich tributes to Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas. He described Abbas as a close associate of Quaid-e-Azam, a guardian of Kashmiri Muslim rights, and a champion of accession to Pakistan.
