Nearly 6,000 medical, paramedical posts vacant in IIOJK

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, 5,967 medical and paramedical staff posts are vacant in health institutions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, this was revealed in the IIOJK Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

The Health Department has a sanctioned strength of 19,683 posts, with only 13,701 filled, leaving 5,967 vacancies.

The vacancies include doctors, specialists, nurses, pharmacists, and other paramedical staff, affecting both gazetted and non-gazetted categories. Significant gaps exist in districts like Baramulla (202 vacant posts), Rajouri (354), Anantnag (649), and Udhampur (668).

The issue has been a recurring concern, impacting service delivery in rural and remote areas. Concerns arise about potential Hindutva ideology influences in the recruitment process, given past instances of demographic engineering in education.
