India’s transnational criminal networks continue to threaten global security

Islamabad: India’s transnational criminal networks continue to threaten global security, as exposed by the recent case of Indian-origin criminal Jashanpreet Singh.

According to Kashmir Media Service, on February 2, 2026, Jashanpreet Singh, 27, founder of the notorious “Punjabi Devils” Motorcycle Club, pleaded guilty in the United States for unlawful firearms dealing, highlighting the involvement of Indian-origin individuals in organized crime across major cities, including the US.

According to the US Department of Justice, Jashanpreet Singh attempted to sell a range of deadly weapons, including a short-barreled rifle, three assault rifles, three machine-gun conversion devices, and a revolver—to an undercover officer on 6 June 2025.

A subsequent search of his residence uncovered additional firearms, a “pineapple”-style capped hand grenade, and a military-grade electronic “claymore” mine, revealing the alarming sophistication of these criminal operations.

Jashanpreet Singh had already faced state charges in San Joaquin County but attempted to evade justice. On 1 July 2025, he failed to appear in court, prompting a bench warrant.

Authorities discovered Singh had booked a flight to India for 26 July 2025, raising concerns over India acting as a safe haven for transnational criminals.

He was arrested at San Francisco International Airport before fleeing, underlining the persistent threat posed by Indian-origin criminal networks abroad.

Jashanpreet Singh is scheduled for sentencing on 11 May 2026. Under US law, he faces a maximum of five years and a $250,000 fine for unlawful firearms dealing, and up to ten years and a $250,000 fine for possession of a machine gun.

This case exposes the global reach of Indian criminal networks and underscores the urgent need for international scrutiny of India’s transnational organized crime links.

Beyond its borders, India’s influence is increasingly seen as a destabilizing force, capable of exporting not just ideology, but highly dangerous criminal activity. Indians are a threat to the West.
