Communal BJP, RSS trying to make India Hindu state: Asaduddin Owaisi

New Delhi: Member of Indian Parliament and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President Asaduddin Owaisi has said that the communal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are trying to make India a Hindu state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Asaduddin Owaisi in an interview strongly criticized an order issued by the Modi government under which respect for Vande Mataram like the national anthem has been made mandatory.
He said that singing and respecting Vande Mataram should not be considered a test of loyalty to India. He said the Constitution begins with us and not with slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai. He said the Constitution guarantees the fundamental right to religious freedom.
Criticizing the demand for Bharat Ratna for Veer Savarkar, Asaduddin Owaisi said that the Justice Kapoor Commission had found Savarkar involved in the conspiracy to assassinate Mahatma Gandhi.
Referring to Tipu Sultan, he said that he was martyred while fighting the British but did not write letters to the British like Veer Savarkar.
