New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has strongly criticized the BJP-led Indian government over the ongoing AI Impact Summit in Delhi, calling it a “PR-hungry” exercise that turned a global opportunity into “utter chaos.”

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a post on X, Kharge said the summit, which could have showcased India’s digital and AI leadership, instead left participants distressed.

“What could have been a global showpiece for India’s AI capabilities has turned into utter chaos and mismanagement by this PR-hungry government,” he wrote.

Kharge highlighted that founders, exhibitors, and visitors faced major difficulties from day one, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s gatecrash for a photo op, lack of food and water, theft of products, restrictions on laptops and personal devices, failure of the Digi Yatra system, and mandatory cash payments in place of digital/UPI transactions.

“Founders were forced to pay huge sums without basic facilities,” he added, calling the situation “a global embarrassment” for India caused by the Modi government’s incompetence.
