Omar Abdullah calls for end to US-Israel imposed illegal war on world

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called for an immediate end to what he described as an “illegal war” imposed on the world by the United States and Israel.

According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to reporters after offering Eid prayers at the Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar, Omar Abdullah said he prayed for an end to the illegal war, stressing that it has affected people across the globe, particularly the Muslim world.

He said the entire Muslim world is passing through a period of uncertainty, as no Muslim country remains unaffected by the ongoing war. He added that the conflict has also impacted India, both emotionally and economically.

Abdullah noted that Muslims in India are emotionally affected, while the broader population is facing difficulties due to rising energy concerns, including shortages of cooking gas and diesel.

Referring to the continued closure of the Jamia Masjid Nowhatta for Eid congregational prayers for the seventh consecutive year, he termed the move unfortunate. He said there is a contradiction between official claims of normalcy and the restrictions imposed on religious institutions.

Questioning the situation, Abdullah said that while authorities claim normalcy, the closure of the historic mosque presents a different picture. He expressed hope that such decisions would be reviewed in the future.
