Coordinated Indian media drive raises questions over Modi security narrative
It appears a plan is being prepared in India to sacrifice Modi politically

New Delhi: A coordinated campaign in sections of the Indian media and social media has triggered a debate after former Research and Analysis Wing chief Samant Goel highlighted “increasing security threats” facing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to Kashmir Media Service, reports circulated by Indian media outlets and accounts linked to Indian intelligence circles revealed that Samant Goel stressed that the prevailing global and domestic security environment remained highly volatile.
He reportedly argued that Modi’s security should be reviewed and strengthened rather than reduced, warning that downsizing the Prime Minister’s convoy could make him more vulnerable to attacks. He also emphasised that security arrangements should remain threat-based and said the anonymity of the Prime Minister’s vehicle must be maintained at all times.
The former intelligence chief further claimed that Narendra Modi had remained under threat for more than two decades because of his national security policies and continued to be a target of what he described as hostile and extremist elements.
Observers have also noted that several Indian media platforms and social media accounts began simultaneously amplifying narratives related to terrorism threats, Modi’s security concerns and anti-Pakistan allegations shortly after Goel’s remarks surfaced publicly.
Political analysts and critics believe the coordinated messaging has raised serious questions about the motives behind the campaign. They said repeated attempts to exaggerate security threats and link Pakistan to potential instability appeared aimed at shaping public opinion and diverting attention from India’s growing internal political and economic challenges.
Analysts further maintained that Narendra Modi was increasingly facing criticism over economic difficulties, diplomatic setbacks and internal divisions within the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. They warned that efforts to create a heightened security narrative could be used to politically exploit regional tensions and malign Pakistan without evidence.
The developments have triggered widespread discussion on social media, with many users questioning the timing and coordinated nature of the narratives being promoted by Indian media outlets. They question whether preparations are underway to sacrifice Modi politically.
