Modi walks out after Norwegian journalist challenges him to face free press in Oslo

Oslo, : Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi walked out without answering questions after a Norwegian journalist challenge him to engage with the “freest press in the world” following a meeting with his counterpart in Oslo.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Modi and Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Støre made brief press statements on Monday but did not take questions.
As Modi left the podium, journalist Helle Lyng of Norway’s Dagsavisen called out, “Prime Minister Modi, why don’t you take some questions from the freest press in the world?” Modi did not respond and exited the room alongside Støre.
Lyng later posted the video on X, writing, “Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, would not take my question. I was not expecting him to.”
The incident has drawn attention to Modi’s consistent refusal to hold press conferences or take questions from journalists during foreign visits and domestic engagements.
