India using brutal tactics to suppress Kashmiris’ freedom spirit: APHC
Hurriyat leaders jailed in fabricated cases to silence dissent: spokesperson

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned cordon and search operations, raids on houses, arrests, property seizures on various pretexts, and other oppressive actions aimed at continuously harassing and terrorizing unarmed Kashmiris.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, expressed serious concern over the deteriorating political and human rights situation in the territory. He said that the BJP-led Indian government and its establishment are carrying out brutal actions to silence the legitimate political voices of freedom in the territory.
The statement also voiced concern over the deteriorating health condition of detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, who have been continuously jailed for their political beliefs. The spokesperson said imprisoned Hurriyat leaders are being targeted for advocating a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute, and false cases have been registered against them in an attempt to break their resolve.
He said that the Indian government was using its investigative agencies, includiing the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and State Investigation Agency (SIA), to target pro-freedom Kashmiris.
The APHC urged international human rights organizations to take notice of the unfair trials of Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists in Indian courts. It also called upon the international community to play its role in facilitating a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The APHC maintained that this is essential for ensuring lasting peace in South Asia.
