12 shops gutted in Poonch fire incident

Jammu:Around a dozen shops were gutted in a horrific incident of fire in the Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, however, no casualties were reported.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a fire broke out in Bafliaz Central Market located along Mughal Road today (Sunday) around 5:00am. The fire started due to a short circuit in a shop and immediately spread to the nearby shops.

Due to the absence of fire service in the area, the fire could not be controlled in time.

A fire tender from Sorankot reached the spot more than an hour after the fire broke out.

The local people expressed their outrage over this and demanded the administration to immediately take stock of the damage and provide financial assistance to the affected families to help them restore their livelihoods.
