Fresh snowfall in higher reaches as rain lashes plans in IIOJK
Srinagar: Higher reaches of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) received fresh snowfall on Thursday, while rain was reported from most parts of the Kashmir Valley.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the higher reaches of Gurez in Bandipora district received snowfall, while several areas, including Srinagar, witnessed rainfall from late Wednesday night.
The Jammu division also recorded heavy rainfall at several locations over the past 24 hours, with Udhampur receiving 117.8 mm, Jammu 112.9 mm and Katra 45.2 mm.
A seven-day weather update issued by Kashmir Weather has predicted rain and thundershowers at many to most places across the occupied territory, while ruling out the likelihood of a continuous spell.
Gusty winds, hailstorms and intense showers may occur at a few places during the period, the forecast said.
