Heavy rains continue in IIOJK’s Srinagar, other areas
Srinagar: In illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar and other plains of Kashmir Valley have been receiving intermittent rains for the past several days, while some hilly areas, including the famous tourist destination Gulmarg, have received fresh snowfall.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a spokesperson of the Meteorological Department said the same weather conditions are likely to continue in the Kashmir Valley till the end of this week.
Srinagar has recorded 10.6 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, while the northern district of Kupwara recorded 9.1 mm of rainfall during this period. Gulmarg, a popular tourist destination in the Kashmir Valley, has recorded 5.6 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, while Pahalgam, another popular tourist destination, has recorded 5.8 mm of rainfall during this period.
The Meteorological Department says that this weather condition is likely to continue in the Kashmir Valley till March 16, while the weather is expected to remain generally dry from March 17 to March 21.
In its advisory, the Meteorological Department has urged tourists, travellers and transporters to exercise caution and follow the advisory.
