Agha Moosvi informs Indian civil society about background of Kashmir dispute
Mumbai: Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharie Shian President Syed Agha Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi held an interacting session with members of civil society in Mumbai, India, and informed them about the background of the Kashmir dispute.
In view of rising Hindutva ideology in India where minorities are being marginalized by Hindu fanatics, Agha Moosvi stressed the need for an interfaith dialogue to “avoid fanaticism which leads to confusion”.
He said he believes that the essence of belief in God and service to the people of God can be found in all Divine religions.
“The selfish evil forces with vested interest promote fanaticism to divide and to create communal disharmony to fulfill their selfish desires. But interfaith dialogue provides space for people of different religions to come together and discuss their religions, clarify the doubts and promote inter-religious understanding and creates inter-religious relations, which avoids frictions between religious and religious communities,” he added.
He urged the Indian civil society to feel the people of Jammu and Kashmir about which, he said, Gandhi called a ‘Ray of Hope’.
Representatives from all faiths and segments of life including journalists attended the interacting session.
