Indian troops intensify crackdown operations in IIOJK
Srinagar: Indian army, paramilitary and police personnel have intensified cordon and search operations, raids and across various districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the violent military operations are underway in various towns and villages of Kupwara, Bandipora, Doda, Reasi, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch districts.
The troops have martyred at least three Kashmriris in Bandipora and Kathua and arrested over 100 during these operations so far.
Four youths, including three in Reasi and one in Kupwara’s Handwara area have been freshly arrested by the troops. A 17-year-old boy from Doda’s Bhaderwah area is among those arrested in Reasi.
Meanwhile, Indian forces’ personnel have heightened so-called security measures along the Srinagar-Jammu highway and other areas of the occupied territory ahead of Indian PM Narendra Modi’s visit on June 21.
Large numbers of troops have been deployed in Srinagar city, where searches, frisking, and questioning of people have increased.
The operations have sparked fear and intimidation among the Kashmiris, with many subjected to harassment and interrogation.
