Maulana Badruddin condemns killing of two Muslim youth by police in Assam

New Delhi: Former Member of Parliament in the Indian state of Assam and State President of Jamiat Ulema Hind Maulana Badruddin Ajmal has strongly condemned the killing of two innocent Muslim youth by the police in Kamrup district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal in a statement said these were the people who were protesting against the demolition of their houses by the government and the police opened fire on the protesters and killed the Muslim youth.

He said on their instructions, when a delegation led by the party member of assembly went to meet the families of the victims, the police not only prevented them from going there but also misbehaved with the member of assembly.

He expressed concern that instead of taking action against the guilty policemen, the Chief Minister of the state is threatening the poor victims with dire consequences.

Maulana said this is not the first incident, but earlier also the police in Noogai targeted the protesting Muslims in which many people lost their lives. He said, “We will fight against the oppression of the state government from the road to the assembly and also in the court.

It should be noted that two youth, 19-year-old Zubair Ali and 22-year-old Haider Ali, were killed by police firing on Muslims who were protesting against the bulldozing of their homes in Assam’s Kamrup district yesterday.
