Sham-polls in IIOJK have no legal significance in international law, FO Spokesperson

Islamabad: Pakistan has termed the first phase of sham-elections held in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) under heavily deployed Indian forces has no significance before the world community.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory and impending in the United Nations and Kashmiri people have to exercise their right of self determination and in this case such election drama’s are bringing more shame to India.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch while in her press briefing said that the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council have clearly stated that the final decision of the IIOJK conflict is according to the will of the Kashmiri people. Kashmiri people will be determine their fate through a referendum under the supervision of the United Nations, she maintained

FO Spokesperson said that no other process can replace the right of self-determination to Kashmiris. As many as 14 political parties have been banned in Jammu and Kashmir and many political leaders are under house arrest, so such an election exercise in an atmosphere of fear is not appropriate.
