Protest demo by Kashmiri diaspora in Geneva against Indian atrocities in IIOJK

Geneva: In Geneva, Kashmiri diaspora held a protest demonstration in front of the United Nations Human Rights Council headquarters against the ongoing Indian atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of Kashmiris, living across Europe, participated in the demonstration held under the leadership of Ghulam Mohammad Safi, Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter.

Former advisor to the AJK government Sardar Amjad Yousuf, Kashmiri representatives Altaf Hussain Wani, Shamim Shawl, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Dr Raja Mohammad Sajjad Khan, Shagufta Ashraf and Naila Kayani addressed the protest demonstration. Former Acting Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Parvez Ashraf and Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Kashmir President Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin were also present on the occasion.

The speakers urged the United Nations Human Rights Council to take notice of serious rights violations in the occupied territory. They said the Indian Army is involved in war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied territory. They said occupied Kashmir has been turned into a prison where freedom of speech is completely banned.

They said fraud elections are being held in occupied Kashmir to mislead the international community. He clarified that the so-called elections are not a substitute for the referendum.

They said that more than ten thousand Kashmiris have gone missing during detention in the occupied territory, while more than 8,000 mass graves have been discovered in occupied Kashmir. They demanded the United Nations Human Rights Council to take notice of the serious situation of human rights in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They urged India to allow the UN fact-finding mission to visit occupied Kashmir.

Hurriyat leader Ghulam Mohammad Safi said that Kashmiris have never accepted the oppressive occupation of India in past and will not accept it in the future.
