Jammu: Body of a 21-year-old youth was recovered from the Chenab River near Talwara in Riasi, marking the third dead body found in occupied Jammu and Kashmir within just three days.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased identified as Sandeep Singh from the village of Thalkote in Chassana, had been missing since September 27. His family had lodged a missing person report at the Pacca Danga Police Station in Jammu.
A police spokesperson confirmed the recovery and stated that the body has been sent for a postmortem examination. Investigations are currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
Locals express deep concern over the recent discoveries, alleging that the missing youths may have been picked up and killed extrajudicially by men in uniform.
