Srinagar: The Kashmiri people have endured over seven decades of oppression and suffering under Indian rule, with their relentless calls for implementation of the UN-pledged right to self-determinaiton met by brutal responses from Indian forces.

According to a report by Kashmir Media Service, more than 96,000 Kashmiris have lost their lives over the past 35 years due to violent crackdowns by Indian troops.

This decades-long struggle in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has left the territory scarred, while the Kashmiri people’s aspirations for justice and self-determination remain unwavering.

The report highlights systematic efforts by Indian forces to stifle the spirit of freedom among Kashmiris through military force—a strategy ultimately deemed unsustainable. Despite these oppressive tactics, the Kashmiri people’s resilience and quest for justice endure, with their resistance against what is described as Indian tyranny expected to be remembered as a proud and inspiring chapter in IIOJK’s history.

The report asserts that India’s prolonged repression cannot suppress the Kashmiri spirit nor rewrite the truth of the region’s struggle for self-determination.

Observers argue that it is imperative for the international community to acknowledge and respond to the situation in Kashmir, emphasizing that the Kashmiris’ resistance against oppression will inspire future generations in their quest for rights and freedom. The call to awaken global conscience on the situation in IIOJK continues to grow louder.
