IIOJK authorities again place Mirwaiz under house arrest
Not allowed to attend funeral prayers of his uncle
Srinagar: The authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have once again placed APHC senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest in Srinagar and did not allow him to attend the funeral prayers of his late uncle Mirwaiz Muhammad Ahmad Shah in absentia.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Ahmad Shah, a renowned Kashmiri leader and uncle of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq passed away in Islamabad, Pakistan, yesterday.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a video statement in Srinagar once again condemned his house arrest by the authorities to prevent him from attending the funeral prayers of his uncle.
He said the authorities have taken away all the religious and political rights of Kashmiris, asking them whether it is now a crime to pay condolence and participate in funeral prayers in occupied Kashmir. He deeply regretted the behavior of the IIOJK administration.
