APHC-AJK reaffirms to continue struggle against Indian occupation
Muzaffarabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chapter (APHC AJK) has paid tremendous tribute to Jammu martyrs and reaffirmed the commitment to continue their struggle against Indian occupation.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi along with other Hurriyat leaders addressing a news conference in Muzaffarabad said the people of Kashmir want settlement of the dispute according to the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi emphasized that the struggle would persist until the end of India’s illegal military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and the attainment of the right to self-determination.
He said the Kashmiri people honor the sacrifices of the martyrs of November 1947, who were brutally killed by the Dogra forces and Hindu extremist groups at the behest of Indian rulers.
He said the Indian authorities orchestrated the massacre of 400,000 Muslims, which resulted in the transformation of the Muslim majority in the Jammu region into a minority.
The APHC leader noted that since 1989, over 125,000 Kashmiris had been martyred by Indian forces for demanding freedom, rights, and justice. He asserted that the Kashmiri people’s resistance against India would continue unabated until the right to self determination is achieved.
He stated India cannot suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom through oppression and tyranny. He further said the APHC-AJK demands the release of all Kashmiris imprisoned in Indian jails, including prominent leaders Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Masarat Alam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Ayaz Akbar, Pir Saifullah and Dr Hamid Fayaz.
He called upon the United Nations to fulfill its responsibilities regarding the Kashmir dispute, insisting that India cannot suppress the Kashmiri people’s quest for freedom through oppression.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat leader Syed Yousuf Naseem in a statement paid tribute to the martyrs of Jammu, adding that the Kashmiri people would never allow the sacrifices of their martyrs to go waste.
