APHC expresses condolences over passing of Mirwaiz Ahmed Shah

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC-AJK) Azad Kashmir chapter has expressed condolences over the passing of Mirwaiz Muhammad Ahmed, a revered figure whose family devoted their lives to the struggle for freedom of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK at a meeting in Islamabad said his death leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of the people and in the ongoing fight for Kashmiri self-determination.

The meeting offered heartfelt prayers for the souls of Mirwaiz Muhammad Ahmed, Shaheed Dr. Ghulam Qadir Wani, and all other martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the just cause of liberation. Their sacrifices continue to inspire the movement, fueling the unwavering resolve to achieve a future of peace, dignity, and justice for the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The APHC-AJK strongly condemned the Indian occupation authorities’ sinister move to place Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest, preventing him from offering absentee funeral prayers for his uncle, Mirwaiz Muhammad Ahmed. This inhumane restriction on a fundamental religious practice, the meeting deplored, highlights India’s continued efforts to suppress the spirit and unity of the Kashmiri people. However, such oppressive measures will not deter Kashmiris from exercising their legitimate rights.

Former APHC Convener Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and Mahmood Ahmed Saghar asserted that India’s inhumane actions cannot silence the resolve of the Kashmiris or deny their fundamental rights. The APHC remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold the mission of these brave souls, tirelessly advocating for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and an end to decades of oppression.
