Indian BSF man commits suicide in IIOJK
Srinagar: An Indian Border Security Force (BSF) man committed suicide in Jammu city of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the BSF man identified as Nitish Kumar (33), a resident of Pathankot in Indian Punjab, committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling in his room at the Paloura locality in the outskirts of the city.
The officials said Kumar, posted at the Jammu headquarters of the BSF, was putting up at the private accommodation, along with his wife and their minor child.
A police team shifted the body to the Government Medical College hospital for post-mortem examination, they said, adding that inquest proceedings were initiated to ascertain the cause of death.
This incident is not an isolated one, as a total of 609 Indian forces’ personnel have taken their lives in the occupied territory since January 2007.
The mental health of soldiers deployed in the occupied territory has been a cause of concern for many years.
Meanwhile, an Indian army man was killed and another was injured after the vehicle from the 63 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) met an accident near Badog in the Kalakote area of District Rajouri.
