APHC-AJK condemns continued arrest of Hurriyat leaders, HR activists

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) has strongly condemned the continued arrest of Hurriyat leaders and human rights activists languishing in different jails of India and the occupied territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, India has imprisoned hundreds of Hurriyat leaders and human rights activists.

APHC-AJK Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt and other Hurriyat leaders in their separate statements in Islamabad India cannot suppress the Kashmiri movement through cruel tactics such as torture, arrests, and sealing of properties. *

They said that international human rights organizations should raise their voices against the ongoing Indian violence in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They appealed to the United Nations and all human rights organizations to use their influence for the release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, including Khurram Pervez, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo and thousands of other Hurriyat leaders and human rights activists, including Masarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Yasan Malik, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Muhammad Qasim Faktoo, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmida Sufi, Naheeda Nasreen, and also put pressure on India to grant Kashmiris their birthright to self-determination.
