NIA court frames charges against JI activists, Rajouri trust under UAPA
Jammu: A Special NIA court in Jammu has framed charges under the draconian law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), against three people and a Rajouri-based trust for allegedly raising funds to advance the welfare activities of Jamaat-e-Islami occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Special Judge NIA, Sandeep Gandotra, passed the order against Amir Mohammad Shamsi, Abdul Hamid Ganai and Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, and Al-Huda Educational Trust.
Despite opposition by defence lawyers Syed Aqib and Adil Pandit, who argued the lack of admissible evidence for proceeding the case, the court upheld the charges.
