26 school children injured in Rajouri road accident
incident sparks public outrage over appalling road conditions in IIOJK
Rajouri: At least twenty-six schoolchildren were injured when a minibus skidded off the road near Thandikassi in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, exposing once again the alarming state of public safety and road infrastructure under the Modi-led regime.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the accident occurred on Tuesday morning when the vehicle, bearing registration number JK02AM 8074, went out of control near Ziarat Thandikassi. All the injured students were rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Rajouri, while two critically wounded children were referred to Jammu for specialised treatment.
The incident has triggered public outrage over the appalling condition of roads in the occupied territory, particularly in hilly districts like Rajouri and Poonch. Locals say that despite repeated assurances by the occupation authorities, dilapidated roads, lack of maintenance, and overburdened transport services continue to endanger lives.
Observers point out that such tragedies reflect the broader neglect of civilian infrastructure in IIOJK, where heavy militarisation and corrupt administration have left basic amenities, including roads, in a ramshackle state. The Modi regime’s claims of “development” in the occupied region stand exposed as frequent accidents continue to claim innocent lives, including those of schoolchildren.
