JKLA expresses concern over confiscation of properties, demolition of houses in IIOJK

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Alliance (JKLA) has expressed deep concern over the confiscation of properties of citizens and demolition of residential houses by the Indian forces in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, terming it as unjust, illegal and retaliatory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Alliance, Sajjad Mir, in a statement issued in Srinagar said in the last few years, there has been an increase in brutal use of force and oppressive acts in the territory due to which Kashmiris are suffering from fear, terror and insecurity.

He said the measures taken by the authorities are aimed at suppressing dissent in the occupied territory and restricting civil liberties. He said tactics like confiscation of properties and demolition of houses are not just administrative measures but a deliberate attempt to exert political pressure.

Sajjad Mir said Kashmiri leaders, activists and ordinary citizens are being framed in cases on false charges, adding Kashmir is a political dispute that cannot be resolved through force.

He appealed to the world community, the United Nations and international human rights institutions to take serious notice of the grave situation in the occupied territory and play their role to stop India’s brutal actions.
