IIOJK High Court rejects bail plea of senior Advocate Mian Abdul Qayoom

Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court has rejected the bail application of senior Advocate and former president of the High Court Bar Association, Mian Abdul Qayoom, who has been unlawfully detained in a fabricated case.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a division bench of Justice Sindhu Sharma and Justice Shehzad Azeem heard the bail plea of Mian Abdul Qayoom in Jammu. The application was filed on humanitarian and health grounds, with his lawyer arguing that, due client’s advanced age and multiple serious health conditions, he required continuous medical monitoring and care to prevent a stroke that could not be adequately provided in jail.
After hearing the arguments presented by both sides, the court rejected the bail application.
It is worth noting that 77-year-old Mian Abdul Qayoom was arrested in 2020 under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), along with various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act, in connection with a fabricated case.
