Sydney attack: Indian passport of perpetrator Sajid Akram revealed

59 charges filed against his son Naveed Akram

Sydney: The Indian passport of Sajid Akram, the main perpetrator of the deadly terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, has been revealed.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Sajid Akram, who was killed by police at the scene of the attack, had been traveling internationally using an Indian passport.

Foreign media and investigative agencies, citing immigration authorities, have confirmed that Sajid Akram had visited the Philippines on his Indian passport shortly before the attack. Australian police have confirmed that Sajid Akram was directly involved in the attack alongside his son, Naveed Akram, who is currently in custody with serious injuries. Naveed Akram now faces 59 charges, including 15 counts of murder and numerous terrorism-related offenses.

The police have officially classified the Bondi Beach incident as an act of terrorism, revealing that flags linked to the terrorist group ISIS and homemade explosive materials were found in the attackers’ vehicle. According to Australian authorities, Sajid Akram was originally from Hyderabad, India, though his connections with his family were reported limited.

In response to the attack, security across Sydney and the entire country has been heightened. Several victims injured in the attack remain hospitalized.

Furthermore, the Australian passport of Naveed Akram, the second key figure in the attack, has also come to light. Investigators have confirmed that Naveed Akram, along with his father, was involved in planning and executing the attack.
