Mirwaiz inaugurates renovated Masjid Ibraheem in Srinagar’s Haba Kadal
Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq inaugurated the renovated Masjid Ibraheem at Haba Kadal in Srinagar, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, local residents, religious scholars, and members of the mosque management were also present on the occasion.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing the participants of the inaugural ceremony said mosques play a vital role in shaping a believer’s character by instilling discipline, punctuality and equality, as worshippers stand shoulder to shoulder before Allah, rising above social and economic differences.
He said mosques teach brotherhood, compassion, and concern for others, and remind people that true faith must be reflected in upright conduct, honesty in dealings, and moral integrity in daily life.
Appreciating the inclusion of a dignified women’s section in the renovated mosque, he said facilitating women’s access to mosques is in line with Islamic teachings and the practice of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He noted that women’s participation in religious and educational activities strengthens families and contributes positively to society.
Congratulating the mosque management and the local community for their collective efforts, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq prayed that Masjid Ibraheem remains a centre of worship, guidance, and unity for the locality.
He stressed that mosques should unite hearts and bring people together, not divide them on sectarian lines and should always serve as spaces of harmony, peace, and positive social change.
